A MAGICAL JOURNEY THRU STAGES ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR PETER AND THE STARCATCHER AND REGISTRATION FOR THE LION KING JR.
Rochester, N.Y., November 4, 2022 – Their first production of Disney’s Descendants the Musical has completed its run, and performances of Aladdin JR take place next weekend, butA Magical Journey Thru Stages announces auditions and registration for the next shows of its 2022-2023 season: Peter and the Starcatcher, and Disney’s The Lion King JR. These two productions offer fantastic roles for young local artists.
Auditions for Peter and the Starcatcher are open to young artists entering grades 6 – 9 on November 13th and 14th. Based on the Novel by Dave Berry and Ridley Pearson, Tony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love. Performances will take place February 10th – 12th, 2023.
Registration for Disney’s The Lion King, JR is now open to young artists entering grades 1 – 5. Sign up and you’re in! Casting will occur onDecember 14th. All who enroll before the production reaches capacity will be in the show. The Lion King JR. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon, and loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar. The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award®-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production. Performances will be held March 24th – 26th, 2023.
