Award-Winning Author to Launch Powerful New Children’s Book on Anger

Dansville, NY – On Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., families are invited to a special launch event at the Dansville Public Library to celebrate the release of Angry? That’s Okay! A Book on Recognizing and Managing Anger (winner of the Literary Global Children’s Book Award in the Parenting & Family category) by multiple award-winning author Sharmilla Fassbender.

This empowering new picture book offers young readers a vital message: it’s okay to feel angry—and there are healthy ways to deal with it. With vibrant illustrations and seven simple, science-backed strategies (like deep breathing, counting to ten, and getting physically active), Angry? That’s Okay! helps kids ages 4–10 build emotional strength and confidence.

The launch event promises more than just a book reading. Children and grown-ups alike will enjoy an interactive read-aloud, hands-on activities that teach calming techniques, and a chance to meet the author. Signed copies will be available for purchase.

“I wrote this book to let kids know that anger isn’t something to fear or hide—it’s something we can understand, manage, and grow through,” said Fassbender, a counselor and longtime advocate for children’s emotional wellness. “This book is a tool to help families talk openly about big feelings and build connection in the process.”

Fassbender’s previous book, *Fantastically Me!*, received critical acclaim and was endorsed by David Newell (Mr. McFeely from *Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood*). With *Angry? That’s Okay!*, she continues her mission to spark meaningful conversations between children and the adults who love them.

The event is free and open to the public – perfect for parents, grandparents, caregivers, educators, and of course, young readers ready to learn about their feelings in a fun, welcoming environment.
