Boos and Brews at Dublin Corners Farm Brewery

“Boos and Brews” at Dublin Corners Farm Brewery October 28, 2017 from noon – 10:00 pm.

If “Eye of newt, and toe of frog…” sounds a little less than ideal for a Halloween brew experience, and hops and malted barley are a bit more to your liking, then perhaps a fall trip to one of the area’s fine local breweries is what you need.

Whatever your brew preference may be, rev up your motorcycle, fire up your trusty SUV or hop on your broom and get out there and sample some new fall brew.

In celebration of fall and the incredible craft beer offerings our region has to offer, Owl will be sharing some of the area’s favorite fall concoctions, as they bubble to the surface.

Since Halloween – which I adore – is right around the corner,  Dublin Corners Farm Brewery’s one year anniversary celebration – Boos and Brews – offers an ideal opportunity to try out some new fall brew, while getting in the spirit.  Brewery owners Justin and Heather Grant will be hosting this celebratory Halloween Bash on October 28, 2017 from noon – 10:00 pm.  The event will feature music by Lee Terrace from Syracuse and Experimental Sandwich out of Medina, BBQ by Jamison’s Real Wood BBQ and, of course, their craft beers.

Dublin Corners Farm Brewery is a small farm brewery located in Livingston County in the town of York, NY that opened October 28, 2016.  The Grants grow all of the hops used for their beers on site at the farm.

The Dublin Corners name comes from the history of the town of York.  According to information in The History of the Town of York, published in the 1940’s by Mary Root, when the area was originally settled, it was a majority of Scottish immigrants, but a small little Irish settlement had sprung up near the farm’s locations.  The settlement became known as Dublin Corners – aka Devil’s 1/2 Acre (Scottish called it this because they felt the Irish drank and carried on a bit too much).

They will be releasing two new beers for the event.  One is a classic Brown Ale and the other a Pumpkin Ale (actually made with a mix of pie pumpkin, butternut squash and hubbard squash and spices).  There will be a beer naming contest for these at the event on the 28th.  The other nice fall beer that the brewery offers year round is Tree Tapper, which is a maple porter- nicely balanced and smooth.
