Conscious Crow-We are the World

Living consciously is acting with awareness and creating enough space to think and reconsider our options before reacting or making a decision. When we take time to reflect before acting we ignite our potentiality which allows our highest capacity to shine through. Aligning with our integrity, we counteract the engrained, conditioned unconsciousness by instead sprouting mindful thoughts about how we can better serve the world and ourselves. While it is always important to consider our impact on the environment it is especially vital in these times to intentionally examine our actions, motives, and clearly assess what type of world we are creating through our choices. When we exist in a more fruitful, sustainable manner – eliminating excess waste, greed, and unnecessary energy – we initiate a ripple of positivity. We create a lighter footprint in the world and use less resources and energy through thoughtful observation of we already have, and how we can creatively approach a situation by using less, and reacting less. Now more than ever before we must find creative and sustainable means of living so we can continue to exist in more bountiful, healthful ways that enhance our communities. Before impulsively reaching for something or instinctively speaking- think of the extended consequences of that action. Will it impact our world in a positive manner or negatively? Does it produce more or less waste? Take the opportunity to practice creativity and consciousness before acting. Take the opportunity to create more space. By continually using creative and conscious approaches in our decision-making and gradually expanding the moment preceding any action- we create the necessary shift our lifestyles so desperately need. Implementing these healthier habits trickle into our society as waves of fruitful, positive seeds, if we will them to be.Kenny Rogers and James Ingram sing in Michael Jackson’s “We are the world- USA for Africa,” that “We can’t go on pretending day-by-day, that someone, somewhere will soon make a change.” It is up to us. Right now. Each choice we individually make has the power to create great collective change. It is when we pay attention to the long-term affects and reflect consistently on how our personal choices contribute to make a difference that we thoughtfully create a better environment now for future generations. We are indeed the world and with each and every choice we make, we witness these decisions spreading to the collective and reflecting itself at large. We can, as Michael Jackson sings, “heal the world, make it a better place.” Change is our personal responsibility. But it is a joint effort. If we each take a conscious step towards producing less, using our creativity more, and being aware of our individual impact, we can slowly and surely turn the wheel in the right direction. It is practicing more mindfulness in our words and taking the time to truly think about our choices that we have the power to create great change, and “that a change can only come when we stand together as one.”
