Eye-Magine – Future Youth Art Exhibit

Dansville ArtWorks is excited to announce a call for art for the Eye-Magine The Future Youth Art Exhibit, which will take place during Second Saturday Dansville on September 13, 2025, at the Genesee Community College, Dansville Campus.
This exhibit is open to all K-12 students in the Dansville Central School District, students in the BOCES LIVES Program at GCC, Dansville Campus, and Dansville homeschoolers.
Visit dansvilleartworks.com to download the 8.5” x 11: design template, or pick up a printed copy at the following locations during regular business hours: Genesee Community College, Dansville Campus, 31 Clara Barton Street, Dansville NY, Tony’s Pizzeria, 140 Main Street, Dansville, NY or MacFadden Coffee Co., 211 Main Street, Dansville, NY.

Entry theme is “Imagine the Future”. Unleash your creativity and bring your vision of the future to life! Whether you envision flying cars, underwater cities, space exploration or unique inventions – let your imagination run wild! You are welcome to use any materials or medium to create your artwork: colored pencils, markers, paint, fabric, magazine clippings, glitter, and more. Feel free to make it 2D or 3D – it’s your world, your vision! If you download and print the template yourself, you can use any paper you like as long as it’s 8.5” x 11”. Entries will be accepted May 1, 2025 – August 1, 2025 and should be delivered to the Administrative Office at the GCC Dansville Campus, 31 Clara Barton Street, Dansville, NY, M-F from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
There is no entry fee for this exhibit.
Please ensure all requested information on the template is clearly filled out so your entry can be processed smoothly. Incomplete entries will not be exhibited.

This event is a celebration of young artistic talent, organized and managed by Dansville ArtWorks’ board member and working artist Allie Oliver-Burns. The exhibit is funded by the Genesee Valley Council of the Arts’ Aid to Localities Program.

Henry David Thoreau once said, “This world is but a canvas to our imagination,” reminding us of the boundless power of creativity. The Eye-Magine The Future Youth Art Exhibit invites young artists to harness that potential and share their visions of tomorrow with the community.
This exciting exhibit will feature artwork from K-12 students in the Dansville Central School District, students in the BOCES LIVES Program at GCC, and local homeschoolers, showcasing the next generation’s creativity and imagination. A Call for Art will go out May 1, 2025.
The exhibit will be open from September 13 to September 26 at Genesee Community College, Dansville Campus, 31 Clara Barton Street, Dansville, NY. Visitors will have the chance to vote for their favorite pieces, and the winning artwork will be featured in a People’s Choice Exhibit at MacFadden Coffee Co. from October 1 – 11.

Founded in 2014, Dansville ArtWorks Inc. is a decentralized non-profit arts organization based in Dansville, New York. ArtWorks partners with other institutions, artists and groups to complete its mission of cultivating and enhancing the visual, literary, and performing arts opportunities in the greater Dansville community. Notable ArtWorks’ programs include Fairy Doors of Dansville, project management of the Clara Barton Mural in 2024, and conduit support for Cristine Riedel (professional storyteller), and George Guida (poet/author/Finger Lakes Art Series).
